Bettina and Christian v Walhoff invite you to make a virtual tour around the vineyards and the region.

Our vineyards are located in the Montravel area about ten miles east of St. Emillion and we produce Merlot, Cabernet sauvignon & Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle for our AOC wines and Ugni Blanc for our Blanc de Blancs Brut Cuvée Romaine.

The total surface of our vineyards in production is 100 acres. We believe that “Wine is Art” the Art of growing best possible and finest grapes and the Art to make the best wines.

Vineyards;
Our vineyards are partly located on the hill tops and partly on the hillsides of the Montravel region;
The soil condition are heavy clay with more or less calcaire deposits which favors more the white then the red grape production.
The usage of chemicals is reduced to almost 0 and only biological treatments are in use.

The Vineyards have great Art in their midst and we are proud to have great art collections of local Artists.

Production;
The annual production is around 120.000 liters of which the majority is sold in bulk to the dealer network; Only the best is reserved for bottling au chateau and we offer great Merlots, Rosé’s, Sauvignon Blancs, Semillon et Blanc de Blancs Brut Cuvée Romaine.

Animals Sanctuary;
Our Chateau and vineyards serve as an Animal Sanctuary and we are proud to have quit a collection of various rescued species around.

Beginning May 2006 you will be invited to visit our local center to taste our wines and those of our colleagues while enjoying great regional food;
The Center is located next to the” Museum of the Roman Ruins” in the heart of Montcaret.
